I used to teach Computer Education for 6 years when I was still single. I can't imagine that what I used to study when I was still in College will be the same subject matter that I will be teaching my High School students before. Change is inevitable and we cannot do something about it.
Same thing happened when the Philippines adopted the K to 12 Basic Education Program in 2012. The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education ( six years of primary education, four years, of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.
To help with the implementation of the program, DepEd engaged partnerships with Technical Vocational Education and Training and use their existing facilities and teach staff starting SY 2016-2017.
Private companies are also doing their share in supporting the program. One company that I know is DANE Publishing House Incorporated.
DANE Publishing House Incorporated has been doing a noble cause for education for the last twenty seven years. They have been creating educational materials for grade school and high school for both private and public schools. Now, as the educational system in our country has adopted the K12 system, they have gone to create a new platform for education.
DANE Publishing’s website, http://www.danepublishing.com/blog aims to expand the pool of knowledge in which they provide for both students and teachers. The blog contains current resources for them to use. To help DANE reach more individuals and do more for education, please like their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/danepublishing and their blog, and share your knowledge!
