Janelle's 9th Recording Party

My eldest just turned 9 years old last December 17. She's no longer our baby anymore. As she enter into another phase in her life as a tweener, we decided to come up with something new, something that she and her friends will enjoy and will experience  a new activity together. They love to sing so we came up with a recording birthday party.

INVITATION - DIY by Mommy JLo

A DIY project for me, made with love using photoshop and printed it at a nearby photo developing center.  The invites comes with a free microphone which I bought from CD-R King. The microphone symbolizes music, recording and fun. Also attached in the invitation is the Program of Activities, it will be first time for them, so I made sure that the parents would be aware on what would happen during the event.

 PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES

VENUE - Studio Z Audio Productions and Recording Studios / 8th Notes Studios

We held the recording session at Studio Z Audio Productions and Recording Studios owned by hubby's friend and well known record producer / arranger Mr. Paolo Zarate. Studio Z is located at Unit 206 and 207 Jajaj bldg 109 Panay ave. South Triangle (Beside the Back of Crossings/Nationalbookstore Quezon Ave.), Quezon City, Philippines. Or you may give them a call at   416-6665 / 0917-5227329 / 09174005567

Five of her friends together with her sister recorded two songs One Thing by One Directions and Love Story by Taylor Swift.

FOOD - Greenwich Delivery

While the sound engineer mixes their tracks, we proceeded to 8th Notes Studios which is just beside Studio Z for the merienda. I ordered Greenwich's barkada meal (spaghetti, chicken and pizza) with drinks.

The table is also a DIY project and styled by me and my dear friend Mimi. I borrowed a zebra print table cloth from Ms. Jacque Tan of partyboosters http://partyboosters.multiply.com to compelement with our theme. Thanks to Jacque.

Letter Standee on the table and on the stage c/o Wooden Kiddie Stools and a Lot More! www.facebook.com/woodenkiddiestools www.woodenkiddiestools.multiply.com . Syempre pa patronize your own products. :-)

PRESENTATION - Janelle and the Marian Belles

The girls presented a dance number using their track already. Janelle and her friends choreographed the presentation. K Snaps, our official photographer and videographer prepared a Music Video. Excited much about this! Can't wait to see this...

CAKE / DONUT POPS - Mister Donut

No budget for the cakes since it will be a small party. Just bought 3 pcs mini donut cakes from Mister Donut at 45 pesos each, and 50 pcs donut pops at 5 pesos each.

PHOTORAPHER / VIDEOGRAPHER - K Snaps www.facebook.com/KSnaps

This is really where the budget goes. At first I just wanted to hire a photographer since it will just be a small party. But what is a recording party with presentation without a music video? So I asked Kathy to provide also the video coverage.

So this is it. Will post the link to the official photo album soon as well as the music video as soon as I get them from K Snaps.

Darna! : Am I really a Supermom?

Whenever bloggers feature me on their blogs as a mompreneur, they seems to come up with the same title. Am I really a Supermom?

My first blog feature was from Women's Central in 2011 with a title Super Wo-Mom: Jen and Wooden Kiddie Stools

http://womenscentral.blogspot.com/2011/05/super-wo-mom-jen-and-wooden-kiddie.html

and just recently Bebengisms featured me on her site  as a mompreneur with a title Wanted: Supermom + Wooden Kiddie Stools Giveaway

http://www.bebengisms.blogspot.com/2012/09/wanted-supermom-wooden-kiddie-stools.html#more

Thefreedictionary.com defined Supermom as :

: an exemplary mother; also : a woman who performs the traditional duties of housekeeping and child-rearing while also having a full-time job

So, how do i fair here? I'm not sure if I was able to perform well the "traditional duties of housekeeping" mentioned here, I am not a domesticated person. I don't cook, I don't wash laundry and  I don't wash dishes (well I do sometimes, depending on the situation :-)

But yes I am also a wife with a full-time job, I have my own business,  I am a member of a chorale group, I am a singer / performer, I am a graphic artist, I am a hobbyist, I am an Events Planner, I am an Educator (I used to be) and the so many other roles I am playing.

I belong to this network of mompreneurs juggling the many characters and personalities their wearing. And If I am a supermom, they're also supermoms, and all moms are supermoms!
And to all my supermom friends, let us all unite and sabay sabay sumigaw ng "Ding ang Bato! Darna!"

Multiply's new e-commerce look

This is a message from Multiply HQ in Jakarta. I think there will be a lot of disappointments from buyers and of course sellers as well. This only means that I need to register my www.woodenkiddiestools.multiply.com as a Multiply Trusted Seller Account, which costs (as of to date) 3,000 per year.

So what happens now?

Hello. Stefan here, writing you from Multiply HQ in Jakarta, Indonesia.

As most of you are probably aware, Multiply's mission has evolved over the past year and a half to become the biggest and most beloved ecommerce marketplace in two very exciting markets, Indonesia and the Philippines. As our focus has shifted, we have reviewed all of our operations, and made some decisions that will affect everyone here.

  • From December 1st, we will unfortunately no longer be able to support Multiply in its current form - notably we will be removing the social networking and content sharing part of Multiply (photos, videos, blogs, social messaging, etc.). We have decided to discontinue providing and hosting these services, as we have concluded that other Internet sites who are committed to social networking services will do a better job serving you than we can.
  • For our existing users of social networking features, we will be providing easy ways for you to either download your stuff (photos, blogs, content, etc), or migrate it to other online services. We'll announce the precise details shortly. It will be your choice whether to download, migrate or just let your content lapse (and get deleted).
  • For our existing ecommerce users (both buyers and sellers) in Indonesia and the Philippines, there will be no action required.
  • Regarding any existing Multiply Premium subscriptions we will refund any unused balance, and apologize for any inconvenience this will cause. Please contact customer service to request a refund. Note that this is for Multiply Premium, not the ecommerce related Multiply Trust product.

I am aware of how disruptive this news may be, and understand the disappointment that it may cause. Ultimately this was a business decision, critical to our to success moving forward. Instead, we are excited to pursue our own mission to give the 350 million consumers in Indonesia and the Philippines a great way to buy and sell items online. Our singular focus now is for Multiply to retain its status as a vibrant e-commerce destination in Southeast Asia in the years ahead.

I suspect that many of you will not like this news, and am sorry to have to deliver it now. I hope that you will be able to understand the reasons for our decision and thank you for being a part of the Multiply community over the past eight years.

My PCOS Diary (Reposting from 2004 Blog)

I would like to share what I've been through when I was still trying to conceive. Here's my PCOS Diary.

December 2, 2002 - Its my 1st day of cycle after being delayed for 19 days. Finally! When I visited Dra. Macapagal 2 weeks ago I told her about the possibility of not ovulating. With no blood work or any tests, she prescribed me Duphaston and Clomid right away and was advised to have TVS on cd12.

December 12, 2002 - I went to Healthway this afternoon just to inquire about their price for TVS. Ellen advised me to seek for a second opinion and recommend Dra. Nelinda Pangilinan. She’s also affiliated with St. Lukes and accepts Medicard. So it’s fine with me. During the consultation she asked me the reason why I had my miscarriage last March. I really don’t know, all I know is that my Little MJ has fetal bradycardia. Dra. Pangilinan advised me to have a TVS on cd5, OGTT 75mg, FSH + Estrogen on cd2 to check if I have hormonal inbalance which she suspects right away after telling her I have irregular period. She also asked for my histophatology record and to stop taking Clomid.

January 3, 2003 - Its cd1! My period is not late and I have a 30 day cycle already. Maybe its because of the Dupasthon which I took last December. I did not respond to Clomid.

January 7, 2003 - Its cd5 and I had my TVS with Dra Pangilinan this afternoon. Inside the TVS room, I was praying that no tumor be seen inside my uterus or anywhere. I was in a state of shock when she told me that the reason why I am not ovulating and why I have irregular period is because of polycysts. From the word cysts, I cant help but asked her how to treat it. Do I need to undergo operation? Confidently she answered me that there are medicines for this syndrome. She prescribed me Duphaston and was asked to have my OGTT test so she can give the right dosage of Metformin.

She’s very accomodating and she explained me well. But that doesn’t stop me from my depression.

January 11, 2003 - Finally I found time to have my OGTT test. No food or water for 12 hours and I was taken blood samples 4 times with 1 hour interval. The test was very stressful.

January 14, 2003 - Dra. Pangilinan saw the result of my OGTT and told me that I am insulin resistant. Hour 1 is above the normal. She advised me to start taking Metformin 500 mg 3x a day for 3 months. She also advised me to return to her on my cd1 to cd3 on March to check if we can stimulate ovulation.

January 18, 2003 - I have nausea and I vomitted because of Metformin. I also started taking Duphaston for 10 days.

February 3, 2003 - Its cd1. Again it’s a regular period. Maybe I am responding now to Duphaston and Metformin because there are no more sharp pains, no heavy yellow discharge, and no more cramps, and the best of all no more hunger fangs.

February 4, 2003 - Its cd2. I took FSH and Estrogen. Hoping that the results are normal so I can start taking Clomid by March and be able to conceive very soon….

February 10, 2003 - Got the result of my FSH at 8.7 . Based from what I read, I think its normal because the normal value for follicular is 3-12 mlu/mL. No result yet for my estrogen. I was asked to get it tomorrow before my consultation.

February 11, 2003 - My Estradiol is below normal (13.55). That is the reason why the follicles does not reach maturity. Still wait for the 15th day to check if I’m ovulating or not.

February 26, 2003 - I’ve watched Etc on infertility. It focused more on Artificial Insemination and IVF instead of medicines and other PCOS condition. Should I consider that as an option?

April 3, 2003 - It’s the 3rd month of my fertility treatment and I had my first CD. I reported right away to Dra Pangilinan because she advised me to visit her on my first CD. She prescribed me Clomiphene Citrate (Clomid) 100 mg to be taken daily in 5 days starting CD2. She also prescribed me folic acid to be taken daily for 14 days. I was scheduled on the 12th for my TVS to monitor the growth of my follicles. She will give me back-up on the 15th if in case there’s no big developments.

April 6, 2003 - Its my 4th day of taking Clomid, and I felt a little dizzy and nauseated. I guess this is what Dra. Pangilinan is telling me once I started taking the Clomid / Metformin combination.

April 12, 2003 - Its my 10th cd and its my TVS schedule for follicle monitoring. My Polycysts has been transformed into a follicle and I have already 1 dominant follicle which is ready to pop anytime. My uterine lining is so thin at .1 and Dra prescribed me progynova for 3x a day for 3 days. She told me to have my TVS again on April 15.

April 15, 2003 - Had my TVS at Laguna to monitor my follicles, 3 dominant follicles found and will pop anytime. Was advised to have sex of April 16 and 18…Will I have triplets?

May 3, 2003 - My period is late. I have cramps and sharp pains on my breast. I might be pregnant already.

May 5, 2003 - Took the pregnancy test twice and its both POSITIVE. Finally, the long wait is over………

Maternity Shoot

A friend recently gave birth to a baby girl (Congrats RG by the way!) which reminds me to re-post my maternity photos when I got pregnant with Jnl and Jwl.

OMG! is this really happening? I'm back to the blogging community. Actually it was Mr. Christian Grey who inspired me to blog again. LOL! (to those who can relate, it was the Anastasia Steele in me who is saying that!). Are we expecting a baby boom next year? They will soon be called as Grey babies. LOL!

Going back, these photos are great reminders that life is beautiful!

Birth Pains

Blogging in... ( www.jenniferlopezgana.i.ph ) - My blog site for 3 years   is now on  permanent vacation. In an attempt to go back to blogging, I decided to go back using e-blogger. And just like any mom who is about to give birth, I am experiencing  birth pains. I hope to get used with its environment really fast because I have so much stories to tell and photos to share.

This will also be the home of my "Party Diary", its been a while since my last post, I think its way back  2007 after Jewel's 1st Birthday Tea Party. I'm sorry to those who followed me here, its been an honor for me answering your emails on how to DIY. I hope you'll visit me again soon. Some followed in FB though, some still sending me private messages. Thank you,  and I think I owe an apology, especially to those who even followed me at the World Trade Center when I had my first Bazaar.

The rebirth of Blogging in... coincides with the death of Comedy King Dolphy (RIP 07-10-2012). May he rest in peace.
